Kibuye Activities!!

Muraho from Kibuye!
We have all been doing well, although exhaustion and tummy aches have been catching up with us.
The past 2 days, we have been teaching Purpose Driven Life and P.E.A.C.E. to youth leaders...
It has been awesome getting to know them personally, listening to their stories, and them telling us about how God is working in their lives and communities.
Today, we began another Youth Summit and things are going great.
The past afternoons, we have spent doing other ministries...
One afternoon, we separated into groups and visited 4 different Community Development Trainers (CDTs)...
We were able to learn about what they are doing in their communities as well as pray and encourage them. They are amazing people.
Other afternoons we have visited Kibuye Hospital...
We have gone with some CDTs to feed the most vulnerable hospital patients. The most vulnerable patients are those without families to provide meals.
We have been able to pray for patients, give bed baths, sing worship songs with them and simply love them.
We look forward to the next couple days of ministry!

Rwanda or BUST!

Kigali...and Bujumbura too...
We were all surprised to hear that we could only have ONE carry-on item per person.
This led to chaotic repacking and stuffing small bags into medium bags into big bags... for example, Hillary's purse in Caroline's backpack in Danny's backpack.
It worked great until we got to the gate, and they said, "I don't think so."
Danny refused to check his bag, unless he could walk it to the plane and load it himself...
AMAZINGLY...they let him.
We all slept soundly on our bumpy, 100 seater plane.
We unexpectedly took a detour through Bujumbura, Burundi which is actually passed Kigali.
Finally, we arrived in Kigali around 2 am!!!
We filled out more forms (we're pros) and collected less than half of our luggage.
We still can't figure out how we had all of our luggage in Nairobi, but it didn't make it to Kigali.
We personally think they left in Burundi as payback for Danny's oversized carry-on.
2 hours later...filling out even more forms for our missing luggage...it's 4 am once we leave the airport.
Unsure of day or time...WE NEED SLEEP!

"Smile We're in Kenya"

Nairobi...
We arrived safely!
Spent an hour filling out visa and swine flu forms.
ALL 26 pieces of our luggage made it too.
We collected all of our luggage and took it across the street to recheck it with Kenya Airways.
3 hours later, we still had 6 hours to kill...so we headed to the Carnivore Restaurant for dinner.
We enjoyed some tasty cuisine...
Ostrich meatballs, crocodile, chicken, beef, pork sausage, spare ribs, chicken livers, and lamb chops...
YES! We tried everything.
Headed back to the airport for final flight to Rwanda. We should arrive around 2 am.

The Joy of Forms, Passports, Payments, and Visas.
All of us with all of our luggage...for now.
The luggage train.
The Carnivore...Vegetarians not welcome.
Hillary with the Meat Man.
Jamie, Haley, and Caroline
Waiting for Brock to surrender.
Matt got tired of waiting, so he took a nap.

Dubai...on the way to Rwanda

Our flight was long, but comfortable and uneventful...Emirates is the way to go!
Dubai...
It was really hot and really really humid
The spots you see on the pictures below are actually the humidity in the air
Palm Springs got nuttin on Dubai
We took a taxi tour through the city to see some of the more famous landmarks
It was nice to sleep after a 16 hour flight
Curry...glad that's over...everyone agrees

Off to Nairobi now!
